FIRST AGM
The FIRST AGM of DATCCU was held at Roman Catholic Church, Dormaa-Ahenkro on 13th May, 1996. With the help of the District Co-Operative Officer Mr. Osei during that AGM, the first BOD and other committees were elected.
EMPLOYEES
The first BOD employed Adu Twumwaa Faustina, Osei Bonsu and Patricia. The committee work hand-in-hand towards the improvement of the union.
Later, Faustina and Osei resigned to continue their education.
The BOD employeed Elvis Adu-Gyamfi as manager, and Patricia Nyaaba as book keeper. Elvis also left for further studies leaving Patricia, due to that the BOD employed Mr. C S K Kuma a retired teachers as a contract staff to support the operations of the union. Later, it became necessary to have another person as manager. The Board advertised the vacant post on the Air waves including Radio B.A.R. The Applicants were interviewed by the Board and Dr. Ameyaw Yeboah James, who was in the Techiman District, was eventually appointed as the new manager of the credit union. Dr. Ameyaw Yeboah James had once taught at Pampaso R/C JHS before leaving for the Sunyani Polytechnic for further studies. Shortly after the assumption of office of Dr. Ameyaw Yeboah James, a new Board, chaired by Mr. Amo-Budu was ushered in, to take over from Mr. Amo Appiah.
The new manager, Dr. Ameyaw advised against the former Board’s decision to stop the payment of loans and taking of savings through the Controller and Accountant General’s Department. The Board had then taken this decision due to some inherent problems associated with it. Consequently lists of all the members were sent to the Accountant General’s Department for deletion. Surprisingly, all the names went off except that of three members, one Mr. Tetteh and two other female teachers, Mad. Baah Theresa and Mad. Theresa Badu. This later turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Dr. Ameyaw insisted on vitalizing membership base through the three people.
It became easier to insert the names of new members once again since the union still had its code with the Accountant General’s Department, because of the three remaining names. Dr. Ameyaw Yeboah James took over office then with three memberships on Controller and Accountant General’s Department
